Guardian Solution

By-pass toll fraud is a multi-billion dollar world-wide industry, which affects every public telephone network. Toll fraud includes all actions that result in international calls into and out of the country avoiding the true international rates that are set by the country.

Teralight offers the Guardian solution with integrated software Prevail for fraud detection and revenue assurance .It can in real-time track down and eliminate fraudulent traffic on the network.

Teralight Ltd Guardian Fraud detection solution is based upon two approaches, namely: Non-Passive approach Passive approach.

Non-Passive approach

Teralight Non-passive approach works by implementing the Teralight AFE (Active Fraud Elimination) hardware, Prevail Application, SBD application and Automatic calling generation system in order to detect the fraudulent calls, roaming fraud, phantom traffic, SIM boxes, stolen handsets, non-paying subscribers, interconnect billing errors, and many more.

SIM box fraud is usually detected by traditional fraud management systems through analyzing CDRs or other MSC logs to detect call usage that matches the SIM box fraud profile.

The Teralight Guardian Fraud Detection solution goes well beyond traditional fraud system capabilities. It combines the innovative signaling technology of Teralight’s Active Fraud Eliminator (AFE) with the SIM Box detection capabilities provided by the SBD application, along with Teralight’s Prevail application for the generation of detailed and summary reports. Prior to the combination of AFE, SBD and Prevail, detection applications had no direct ability to control or stop fraudulent traffic. Mobile operators can now detect and act on SIM box activity from the same system, using the Teralight total solution.

It is a standards-based, carrier-grade SS7/C7 network node that is deployed independent of existing network infrastructure. Using SBD and Prevail generated real-time reports; mobile operators can shut down SIM Boxes according to GSM standards immediately upon detection, thus eliminating the fraudulent activity of any operator.

Passive Approach

Teralight’s Passive approach works by implementing the filters through the use of Prevail software, AFE and SBD application. Prevail is designed to implement the Teralight passive approach as well as non-passive approach, so that the customers does not need to continuously analyze the fraudulent traffic. Instead they can create Filters on the Prevail and AFE application. These filters can not only identify the fraudulent activity in the network, but also eliminate them in real-time, and maintain their record for future viewing. Once the fraudulent activity is identified, Prevail can in relation with the AFE can tear down, block and re-route the fraudulent calls in real-time. These filters will stop all fraudulent activity in the network to occur in the future.
